Herbert W. Kaufman Leadership Lab 1.0 - Fall 2026

The Herbert W. Kaufman Leadership Lab is a dynamic, hands-on fellowship that empowers students to grow as leaders within the Jewish community and beyond. Through immersive experiences and skill-building workshops, participants will gain valuable tools in areas such as event planning, innovation, communication, social media strategy, and organizational leadership.

Whether you're interested in shaping Jewish life on campus, becoming a future MSU Hillel intern or Jewish Student Union leader, or simply want to level up your leadership in a fun, supportive environment—this is the opportunity for you.

Herbert W. Kaufman Leadership Lab 2.0 - Spring 2027

The Herbert W. Kaufman Leadership Lab 2.0 is an immersive leadership development fellowship that will dive even deeper into leadership development, focusing on resume building, interview preparation, communication, and innovation. This fellowship is open to all students with priority given to those who completed the Kaufman Leadership Lab 1.0. 

 

Participants will receive a $200 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Israel Learning Fellowship - Fall 2026

Kol Yisrael: Zionism 
This series examines the historical and contemporary context of Zionism, delving into the diverse perspectives that shape ongoing debates. At its heart, our learning centers on two guiding questions: How do competing visions of Zionism align and diverge? And, both today and throughout history, what beliefs, values, and challenges have influenced Zionism and those who advocate for it?

Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF) - Fall 2026 / Spring 2027

JLF is a discussion-based seminar that invites students to explore Judaism in a meaningful, personal way. Through engaging conversations and timeless Jewish wisdom, participants wrestle with life's big questions: Who am I? Where do I belong? What values guide my life? What is worth committing to—and why?

Whether you're deeply connected to Judaism or just beginning to explore it, JLF offers a welcoming space to reflect, ask questions, and discover what Jewish life and identity can mean to you. Participants will receive a $350 stipend upon successful completion of the program. Shabbat Hosting Lab (SHL) - Fall 2026

The Shabbat Hosting Lab (SHL) invites students to develop confidence and knowledge surrounding Shabbat rituals, to design and execute a Shabbat skill set, and to become emboldened hosts, capable of facilitating a table experience in their own living spaces that is informed and inspired by Jewish wisdom and tradition.

 

Participants will receive a $300 stipend upon completion of the program and will also receive funding to host two Shabbat experiences for their peers. To learn more or apply, click here.
